BODY BEAUTY TREATMENTS AT HOME

More than ever, it is important to take some time for yourself and carve out a few minutes each day to relax, rejuvenate and recharge.  Like most, we used to treat ourselves to a facial, or a massage, but times have changed and we are now coming up with ways to do some at home treatments for some much needed pampering.  The best part, it's a fraction of the cost!  Here is our step-by-step guide for the best spahhhhh-like experience at home!

Set the Scene

Light some candles, drop the lights and start prepping a warm bath.  Dare we say set the mood further with some Ed Sheeran or Taylor Swift?  Do whatever you need to do to start turning your brain off and switching to relaxation mode.  Below are some of our favorite self-care treatments, but feel free to spice it up and add in a body scrub while in the bath, or a soak to relax even further.  Bottom line, you deserve it!

Treatment 1: Dry Brushing

Dry-brushing is one of our favorite things to relax.  Most experts recommend dry-brushing in the morning, rather than before bed, because they believe it has energizing qualities, but there are also studies that Dry-brushing prior to bed helps you sleep better.

Dry-brushing is one of those rare things that feels just as good when you do it yourself as when someone else does it to you, and it’s incredibly easy to incorporate into your routine and the benefits are immediate and lengthy. Some people use the brush on its own; others put a bit of body oil on the brush before they use it.  We prefer to do it dry and then follow-up with oil after.

Start at your feet and brush upward toward the heart. Similarly, when you start on your arms, begin at the hands and work upward. Use firm, small strokes upward, or work in a circular motion. For the stomach, work in a clockwise direction. Remember that harsh exfoliation is never the point; be sure not to press too hard or use a brush that’s too stiff.

 Treatment 2: Hair Mask

Although it's been all pj's all the time, if you are like us you still have zoom calls and have to get your hair camera ready every day, so that mane needs some TLC from the havoc of your hairdryer, curler, etc.  We love applying a hair mask prior to stepping into the tub and letting each strand soak for 30-40 minutes for pure goodness!  Here are some of our favorites to try:
